What is PFLAG?
PFLAG is the nation's first and largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.
We’re creating a caring, just, and affirming world for the LGBTQ+ community. We value: Accountability, Bravery, Community & Collaboration, Growth, Inclusivity & Belonging.
Our Chapter
The PFLAG Hanover/Madison chapter was established in 2012 as a branch of the PFLAG National organization that was founded in 1973. We are based in Jefferson County, IN and serve southeastern Indiana as well as nearby counties in Kentucky.
One of our main goals is to keep families together. To facilitate this goal, we provide a safe place for ALL members to share their feelings and experiences with others who have been down the same road.
What We Do
Support- We meet monthly to provide a support group for LGBTQ+ individuals, of all ages, and their families and allies.
Education- We host events and share resources to help educate ourselves and our neighbors about the unique issues and challenges facing people who are LGBTQ+.
Advocacy- We are vocal and active in our communities to change attitudes and create policies and laws that achieve full equality for all LGBTQ+ individuals.
